Juan Carlos Folla received his primary education in Spain, his secondary education in France and his university studies in Canada. He completed a master's degree in economic anthropology of habitat within the framework of a double direction of the department of anthropological studies of the University of Montreal and of the Institute of Anthropology of the Universidad del Norte in Antofagasta in Chile.
He became director of after-sales and communications services for Groupe Marzim, one of the largest real estate developers and builder in the Montreal region of the 1990s. The volume of data generated by the department he heads covers a residential stock built of more than 5,000 housing units and 250 rental units owned by the company. This led him to create a technical unit for IT management, electromechanical, environmental and telematics data.
This unit will design and manage the “Atlantide Smart City” project which will enable the first residential real estate project in Canada to include a complete basic home automation system. During his doctoral studies at the Faculty of Planning of the University of Montreal, Juan Carlos became responsible for the international promotion of CIBAT-Canada (Center International du Bâtiment). The analysis models studied during his thesis and within VOZ International, a company he founded at the time, led him to reorient his interests towards information research and the methods of interpreting data used by companies. technology bases that supply the construction sector in the context of globalization.
Being guided, since his professional beginnings, by a desire to reconcile Concept and Practice in the field of contemporary housing, Juan Carlos co-founded the firm Architect BHL for which he is responsible for turnkey construction projects.
